(From “Two or Three Gathered Together” by Glenn Clark)
Start a “Quiet Hour of Prayer” with complete relaxation and utter stillness.
The soul that waits in silence will learn to disentangle the voice of God from the net of other voices.
When two or three come together in perfect love, perfect harmony, perfect selflessness so that it does not matter whether they remain silent or speak aloud their inmost thoughts, there is indeed God’s spiritual power moving in their midst.
Effective Prayer Groups establish their routine of meeting upon Love and Joy and the soul of a Prayer Group is Grace. Let there be sincere enthusiasm and a lilt of expectancy in every coming together!
If we are weary of how Prayer Group is going, probably God is as weary of it as we are. Shake out of it and approach God in one of countless fresh directions. Possibilities may include telling of a deep personal spiritual experience, sharing a favorite passage of scripture, spending quality together time giving thanks to God, or taking more time for silence in the group.
In hour of crisis look not at poverty of our need, but look at the riches of our Lord.
Let us help the nations of the world by arming ourselves to Love and Pray.
Remember: ‘One with God is a majority’. Glenn Clark believed in praying for big things---tremendous things---taking off all limits and asking God to save entire nations. Permanent things begin on the mountaintop in secret and stillness, in fasting and prayer.
Christ said, “Abide in Me as I abide in the Father and He in Me”. That is His plan for drawing us to Himself.
Lord, take us, mold us, and shape us into channels for expressing Thy will. Amen!
