I have been attending CFO events since 1967, and over that time, I have heard about prayer and practiced praying with observation and reflection about what happens when we pray. Here are some things I have learned:
The purpose of prayer is to make contact with God, to behold His awesome power and His wonderful mercy. But being filled with awe and wonder will change me. Sometimes I do not pray because I do not want to be changed. But concern can cause me to pray and God will trade His peace for my concern, and a great answer to my prayer is then assured.
